Is it a gimmick? Of course, but one that could actually show useful. You never know when you’ll want to touch up your gloss after a power outage or open a locked door in the dark.
The only thing is, it’s also a little distracting — the light.
At least I think so.
The caps cast a cool-toned blue light and odd, flickering shadows on my lips. It’s like I’m applying gloss in a horror movie, and I keep expecting someone wearing a hockey mask to sneak up on me.

With or without the lights, though, I think these glosses are lovely. You get a nice, long-lasting formula, pounds of pigment and plenty of moisture. What’s not to like?
